“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one”
– CS Lewis
I was reading today in 1 Chronicles (not everyday that I would start a sentence off like that, I’m sure) and I came across a verse that I remember one of my friends sharing with me…one that I had never discovered before. There are a few times (In the Samuel’s and in Kings, Chronicles) where the author describes the position of one of the men as something like “….was the kings friend”
ie: 1 Chronicles 27:33 : “Ahithophel was the king’s counselor, and Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend.”
sweet. I don’t have a mini sermon or an expository writing on friendship to follow this up, I just wanna say that I am so thankful that God built in us the desire for friendship…it was His idea and all a part of his heart…it was His plan from the very beginning…. for man to befriend man to befriend man to befriend man to befriend man….for deep connection and fellowship and friendship.
