Well, the team has now left for China and I now have a few days to explore Taiwan! This morning I went to the base meeting and saw many new faces as well as many old ones (not literally…just friends:) So much has changed here! I have really enjoyed being able to see the new classrooms, apartments that friends live in…new Bubble Tea shops and what have you. It has been a really good day of spending time with friends and with Jesus. I woke up this morning to the loud chanting and singing of a funeral progression…there really is nothing like waking up to that and for the lack of words, I will not attempt to describe it. Maybe someday I will find the words and describe this experience with eloquence:)
On another note, for a while now God has really been speaking to me through the book of 1st Corinthians, mainly Chapter 1 verse 25.
25For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.
This verse wrecks me and I cannot stop thinking about the sovereignty of God in this!! I have never been so grateful to be so unwise. I have been thinking a lot about God’s plans for me and asking Him “What is on your heart for me Jesus”….who can know the mind of God, who can understand his ways…Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails….
The only thing I come to, is that I know that I can trust God, that even the most brilliant plans I have for myself do not even come close to the plans that God has for me…even the most “foolish plan” of God is wiser than my “brilliance”. I don’t know about you, but this sort of truth makes me want to follow Him even more…follow Him to the depths of foolishness and back…
I am spending a lot of this week praying about “what’s next” for me. Would you pray with me and for me during this week? I would be so appreciative of your partnership! Bless you guys and I am sure I will be writing more this week.
